Surface, Length, Width
It is the largest lakeside island of the country, with a maximum length of 20 km. and a width ranging from 200 to 4000 m., providing an overall surface of 3710 hectares.
It has craggy shapes, with soils of tertiary-age origin. It is strongly shaped by the action of old glaciers that covered the region and left their traces in the steep cliffs of most of its coasts. Nevertheless, it has some calm beaches, with fine sand.
It is 764 m above sea level, and its highest peak is the “Cerro Quemado”, amounting to 1050 m.
Within its vast geography it shows interesting and large inner lakes, in addition to many flood meadows.
